Consciousness in medicine (e.g., anesthesiology) is assessed by observing a patient's alertness and responsiveness, and can be seen as a continuum of states ranging from alert, oriented to time and place, and communicative, through disorientation, then delirium, then loss of any meaningful communication, and ending with loss of movement in response to painful stimulation.

Consciousness in psychology and philosophy has four characteristics: subjectivity, change, continuity and selectivity. Intentionality or aboutness (that consciousness is about something) has also been suggested by philosopher Franz Brentano. Centring (UK), or centering (US) is the structure upon which the stones of arches or vault are laid during construction. Once the arch is complete, it supports itself but until the keystone is inserted it has no strength and needs the centring to keep the voussoirs in their correct relative positions.

The centring is normally made of wood, which was a relatively straightforward structure in a simple arch or vault, but with more complex shapes, involving double curvature, such as a small dome or the bottle-shaped flues of the kitchens of some Norman-period houses, clayor sand bound by a weak lime mortar mix could be used. The shaping of this sort of centring would probably be done by eye, perhaps with the help of a template and the stone or brick structure laid against it. On bigger work, like a 19th-century commercial pottery kiln, this was impractical. The structure would be built round a post acting as a datum, and each course of stonework would be set at a distance from the datum as measured by a stick or string.

On completion of the intended structure, the centring of whichever sort is removed and work on pointing and other finishing continued.

This is another one of my late night inspirational writing sprees, the kind that doesn't let me sleep until I've typed it out. I don't have much to say, but I have to share the story of my manifested donut.

Two nights ago I was watching the Simpsons, which, by the way is now 20 years old! And I've been watching it ever since it came on air! Anyway, I saw a donut on this particular episode and, even though it was just a cartoon donut, I really, really wanted it. I admit I even drooled, and my heart began to pine for a bavarian cream-filled donut with a sweet melty chocolate glaze.

That was it. I finished watching the episode without pondering more on my donut passion and then I went to sleep.

The next morning I embarked on my journey to find a coffee. After I purchased the only substance that I'm really addicted to, I went back to my car. I was just about to shut the door and I heard, "You, hey you! You heard me..." I peeked my head out the door, and low and behold, a man was standing there with a large bucket FULL OF DONUTS!!! He said, "Would you like some donuts to help you enjoy your ride?" I almost heard the angelic choirs sing, but then my logical mind--the one that didn't manifest the donut--came in and said, "You can not eat that donut! It has too many calories!" And that was it. I gave into my mind. I passed on the donut, but it was so cool that the universe brought me to a bucket of donuts the morning after craving just one!

It's fabulous. I wanted a donut with all my heart, and I wasn't even consciously manifesting it. It's almost scary how easy it was. It was one of those, "be careful what you wish for" kind of moments. It's a great reminder for us all. You want it? You can have it, especially when the passion and emotion is there. It can be a donut, a puppy, a career change or peace. You just have to put the love into it. On the flip-side, if I vehemently said, "I hate donuts. I hate 'em! I hate 'em", I could have just as easily manifested that bucket. It's all how you want to play the game. The emotion will attract the details of your life either way.

homelessness presents DIFFICULT ISSUE for census-takers.

The U.S. Constitution mandates that a census be taken once every decade, with the goal of modifying congressional districts and allocating budget dollars. Additionally, the Department of Housing and Urban Development asks for an assessment, every two years, of the condition and population of homeless individuals in America, to further funnel funds where they're needed.

As the DHUD admits in its own 2007 report, many homeless programs have had great trouble determining the numbers of homeless in individual communities. Washington D.C. area census workers, however, are convinced that the number has risen, according to the Washington Post:

"There is no way you can count every single person who's homeless," said Michael Ferrell, chairman of the Homeless Services Committee of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, which conducts the yearly tally. "We give our best representation of what the homeless population is in our area . . . from one year to another."

Last year's total of 12,035, up from 11,752 in 2008, is expected to rise again this year because of the recession and high unemployment. The final report for this year's census is expected in May, Ferrell said.

God rays: Alot of people know light is an amazing thing. What they don't know is that electro magnetic waves can be used to do practically anything. This particular technology (more on its origin later in this post...) is called the "god ray" by those in the know because of its amazing capabilities. Atoms and the particles that create them can be manipulated. Elements can be transmuted into any element. There are in fact an infinite number of elements. Mass can be manipulated to create anti gravity effects. Cells can be modified or examined as if they are computer programs to do "miraculous" things such as....
Mind reading: They can even read your mind. It doesn't end there. Not only can your thoughts be heard but what you visualize in your mind can also be seen as well as your dreams. Your ENTIRE brain state can be examined and manipulated as if it were a computer. They can see when you are aroused. They can see what the visual part of your brain is processing. They can use data from your brain to recreate a 3d model of your body that does exactly what you do so you can never hide. Agents can scan your entire memory and know everything you have ever done. Mind reading is used to prevent targets from committing crimes although how the agents knew is never explained. They can see what you see.
Manipulation of the brain: There is an area in the brain stem that can be manipulated to perform an instant kill. The subject simply feints and never wakes up and the cause of death cannot be determined. Receptors in the brain that are activated by drugs both legal and illegal can be abused to create a never ending trip or states of excruciating pain. Agents can link their conscience with yours to pilot your body remotely. You would never even know that they are making you say or do things because its as if your brain itself is doing it!
Synthetic telepathy and Brain Computer Interfaces: Agents and advanced military units no longer use earpieces to communicate. Everything is now done through the mind. There is an advanced HUD that appears in your vision that can be controlled by thought that can display all intelligence information that used to be seen on monitors.
Modification of reality: The same way that your brain processes visual and audio information to create the experience of watching a movie or browsing on the internet can be hijacked to change your reality. TV shows and movies can be changed to have new dialogue, entirely new scenes. Often this will be used to make the target think that the media is commenting on things that the target does to drive them into insanity. Agents often joke and call this the the holodeck because it is used during training to do things that would be impossible in real life.
Transhumanism: Sections of the brain associated with savant capabilities can be activiated permanently. The most elite fighting units have been modified to enable regeneration of tissue. Bones are changed into special "super metals" that are bio-compatible. ALL DISEASES AND HUMAN AILMENTS CAN BE ELIMINATED INSTANTLY AND IT CAN BE DONE TO MASS POPULATIONS. There is a sort of initiation ritual of, ahem, members of this club that every man goes through.
Anti gravity, FTL and teleportation: Yes it is real and it is done using the god ray. Any object even up to PLANETS can be moved and manipulated. Missiles, bullets, etc can be stopped in their tracks matrix style and sent back to the shooter. An object as small as a bullet that is sped up to incredible speeds approaching the speed of light can create a devestating atomic bomb type effect by kinetic energy alone. Spacecraft can be made massless and travel anywhere in the universe in seconds.
Invisibility and walking through walls: A spies dream come true. High value targets usually have invisible agents that follow the target around. They can also move objects and create ghost type effects. I have been told that alot of the ghost stories and ghost shows on TV are actually the result of a dedicated group of pranksters.
Supercomputers and Artificial intelligence: I do not know how they work but there are RIDICULOUS supercomputers that have been retrofitted into current computer technology that can do amazing things including, solving the halting problem, and AI. Agents do not spend their time watching or listening to a targets every move. They simply "talk" to an AI program as if it were a real agent and tell it what needs to be done and what to report back. There is a program by the NSA called ECHELON. Its rubbish. It's really a cover for what they call a "God AI" that has the power to monitor every thought, brain state, utterance, and experience by every person on the planet. At the moment it is not used this way but it will be one part of a future utopian society that is without crime. Agents never chat online. Instead they use AI to monitor and interact with people. They can even do this to create an entire fake internet for a target complete with fake people, comments, youtube videos, gamers, EVERYTHING. The target is basically quarantined off the internet so that any interaction they make can be monitored and manipulated. However, there are real people in cases where a meeting takes place but they are faked by manipulating the targets reality.
Time Travel: Yes it can be done in many ways. It can be combined with the so called "holodeck" to play out events from the past or future in any location in the universe. There are MANY recent tragedies that could have been prevented. I don't think I need to explain that. It can also be used to know any persons fate. This will be used in the future to prevent crime.

A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them.

William Blake (18 century poet and philosopher) summed it up perfectly with the following lines from his epic poem 'Jerusalem' in which he said:

"I must Create a System, or be enslaved by another Man's; I will not Reason and Compare; my business is to Create."

The author Robertson Davies was even more brutally honest in his book 'The Deptford Trilogy ' (p477), when he said:

"Be sure to choose what you believe and know why you believe it, because if you don't choose your beliefs, you may be certain that some belief, and probably not a very creditable one, will choose you."

What all this means is that a person should embrace ideas and beliefs that sit well with him or her at the present time whilst keeping in mind that as awareness about reality expands with the advent of new experiences, so must one's concept of reality change accordingly.

The Three Stages of Truth

It would appear to be an indelible human trait that the 'truth' about all issues goes through three distinct phases known colloquially as "the three stages of truth". During the first stage, the issue goes unnoticed and is ignored. The second stage is characterized by a period of vehement denial. The third stage witnesses the truth about the issue being recognized as self evident.

Thus for example, five hundred years ago contemporary Western (meaning European) society believed that the Earth was flat and at the center of the Universe and anyone who had the temerity to suggest otherwise was invariably burnt at the stake. It wasn't until the Magellan expedition's circumnavigation of the globe in 1522 that the reality of a round Earth was finally acknowledged as being "self evident".

The reason why 'truth' goes through these three stages is that humans in general are very reluctant to give up their beliefs as to the nature of reality because they have invested a lifetime of expense and effort in arriving at those beliefs. Acknowledging that their perception of reality may no longer be applicable in the light of new evidence usually presents humans with the uncomfortable choice of dispensing with a paradigm that they are used to - and which has probably worked quite satisfactorily to date - in favor of something new and yet to be properly defined.

Few humans have the courage or strength of character to pursue such a course of action, as it usually results in considerable personal discomfit associated with a lack of supporting structures around new ideas and a fear of the unknown, not to mention the vociferous ridicule by their contemporaries towards anything new.

This situation is exacerbated by the fact that those who question society's prevailing orthodoxy are by definition dissenters who, by "rocking the boat", tend to threaten the very lifestyle and comfort of all around them who hold to ll.he prevailing orthodox position. It is for this reason why dissenters have been relentlessly pursued and persecuted throughout history by their contemporaries.

The (organization is) men who were not afraid to stand up for what they believed was our inalienable right to give and receive as a group of like-minded people. We are now in complete compliance. We give through a systematic structure that is fair and equal for all. There are no victims here, only happy prosperous individuals who have lifted each other to new heights of abundance they would never have otherwise achieved.

What have we done for mankind? The blessings flowing through this belief system cannot be measured. Many people who participate in our [organized gifting!!] have saved their homes from foreclosure, put food on an empty table, paid for an important medical procedure and improved the overall quality of life. Recently, we sent trucks loaded with food to an orphanage in Africa. The power of many giving to one, no matter how much is given, can change lives -- and if we have anything to say about it, the world too!
